Ok, some days, you just gush over some quality bike products. And i have to say as your typical bike commuter in the hub and burbs that I get to beat on lots of equipment. However, I have completely put these wheels through their paces and they haven't budged out of true. I just potholed when i was avoiding a wanderer (someone riding a bike with no helmet just moving left and right like there steering is broken, also known as idiots) and wasn't paying full attention. No dents, flat spots, and still true as the day they left the factory. The 1850's have some dish to them and some fancy bladed spoke that cut through the smog better i guess but whatever, they are bullet-proof. Last winters salt, the summer rains, and whatever other grime they have traveled through, they have proven reliable. A worthy purchase. I like reliable shit, simple designs built purposefully. I don't have crabon on either bike, just no need when cheaper aluminum will suffice, stand the elements and a few dings, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love some fancy EC90 or EnVE stuff but i'm realistic. I bike too and from work and those items are nice but not needed.
i'm done ranting.

Quickly, some sugar free chocolate just showed up in the office...who makes this stuff. Garuanteed it won't be touched, nor should it be!

Support

I really have nothing to add since last weeks post other than a few drippings from my infected sinuses. My body has given into whatever cold bug i was passed. Nothing like a head cold to start your week. So yeah, i'm off the bike for the week while i recover.

I recently visited portland maine and am really impressed by their "support local" businesses. Way to go. In the day and age of walmarts and home depots' it's a refreshing look at local community small businesses and how to rally to support them.

time for my next dayquil dose...

Chicken Skin and Knogs

I cannot recomend this product or maybe i do. I will let you know in a few hours after it gets somewhat digested, if something like this is digestable.
7-11 Chicken Roller

It was tastey after the first two bites but then the experience went downhill from there. I'm not one to quite or collect a DNF. You finish at all costs, and with that, I had to finish this culinary fast food masterpiece. Anytime "Chicken Skin" is listed as an ingreadiant, you know you are getting quality.

Speaking of Quality. Now that it is getting darker earlier and some mornings it seems like the sun has forgotten to rise. it seems that everyone is reviewing lights and i like a good bandwagon as any. So i'm running a Knog beetle front and rear. Knog lights

I extremely like the versatilty of these little buggers. I switch between what certain people call my "A" and "B" bikes depending on weather, positioning of the moon, etc. Since i'm generally running late, the hassle of some lights that require mounting brackets is a pain so the silicone loop works extremely well. The multiple flash modes is appealing depending on the mood. I want to be seen by cars, so if flash enough (insert pun here), then the job of these lights is accomplished. I'm even running another pair on the back of my helmet and backpack. All have withstood many rainy rides, dry rides and the curious hands of two destructive kids. Simple, reliable, and versatile all wrapped up in a nice package.

Mondays

Monday brings on a whole new week of crud. Had a good laugh when biking in to the sweat shop. Wheel-sucking someone apparantly not affected by the economy when they potholed hard...i mean, bone jarring hard. His wheel blew out, i offered to help but i don't have any superglue to fix his problem...cracked front wheel, some fancy crabon sram wheels. oh well. The price you pay when trying to run the redlight...

And, who left mother natures freezer door open. Seriously, frost this morning! Guess its time for the x-mas decorations...

Seriously

Seriously, my apple juice is made in China.
We can't even squash our own apples any more. Screw you Motts.
Time to start reading labels. If I had a dog, i wouldn't serve he/she Mott's.
