Wednesday had to be the hottest day of the year for me by far. The morning commute to work was bearable but you could already notice the mercury tipping 90 degree's by 9am. It was quite the shock to the system leaving work and trying to ride in the stiffling heat. My brain just cooked under the helmet. I managed to ride until goose bumps started forming and I was getting the chills, hello heat exhuastion. At that point I salvaged what was the rest of the ride home. I could even wear the HRM becuase it kept sliding out of position, i was sweaty mess.
Looks like Fort Rock Revenge is going to get some good weather and the rain doesn't look like it will materialized. This could mean a race without drivetrain issues but somehow I just got the feeling I jinxed that.
I don't know what to think about the cyclocross racing idea. It sounded exciting at first but now that I am starting to see CX guys out training, I am wondering if it is a sound decision. We will have to wait and see. Right about now I could use a Bratwurst, a burger and a nice plate of steamers. Have you ever craved food so bad that you can taste it!
Last night, we tried a new sub shop. Mimo's. It's a little tiny Italian sub shop with great food. We both got smalls to split and share, they were HUGE. A Meatball sub and a Chicken parm sub, both were great. Good amounts of meat and sauce. Pretty inexpensive and low key. I could definately find myself eating there again...and again..and again.
